To improve the external attractiveness of the erected house, you need to decorate it from the outside. Many prefer such popular materials as siding, plaster or blocks, while someone opts for facing bricks as a primary product to correct some shortcomings. Facing must be done to improve the strength and thermal insulation properties, as well as the quality of the exterior of the building.
Facing brick is considered the most attractive and reliable finishing material. A set of high qualities and technical characteristics makes it quite popular among consumers.
Significant advantages:
- extensive color palette;
- resistance to fading from sunlight;
- big choice;
- low moisture absorption, resistance to temperature fluctuations;
- defect-free operation for a long period (about 20 years).
Naturally, there are also disadvantages:
- the need to build a powerful foundation, since there is a lot of weight with pressure on the foundation;
- the construction of walls is carried out on an adhesive or cement mortar;
- the complexity of finishing on the facade with defects.
But, despite the minuses, there are more pluses, and the finishing brick remains in a leading position among other similar materials.
The appearance of the building directly depends on the quality of the material, so the choice is made with all care. When buying, you should take into account the uniformity of color, the accuracy of the geometry of the elements, the absence of pronounced defects, frost resistance and strength. And, the more cavities, the higher the thermal insulation qualities.
There are several types of facing bricks:
1. Ceramic. There are seven-slit white and red, nine-slit light, as well as the usual, which is made by semi-dry pressing. As part of clay and pigments, the surface of the finished material is protected by metal polymers.
2. Hyperpressed. Its basis is crushed limestone or shell rock, which are reinforced with cement. There is no firing, only pressing under high pressure.
3. Clinker. The brick is first pressed, then additionally fired, during which it acquires a varied shade depending on the temperature level.
When choosing a facing brick, you need to pay attention to the dimensions:
- 250x22x65 mm (thin);
- 250x60x65 mm (narrow);
- 250x120x65 mm (traditional).
Then on the quality and color: a good material has a rich red hue, while pinkish indicates a violation of the production technique, which worsens its performance properties. Next, it is worth examining the brick for the presence of mass uniformity, which should not have foreign inclusions.
The most important parameter is strength, which is indicated on the elements in the form of markings: M 25 (low), M 50 (medium), M 150 (high strength).
The price of work on finishing with facing bricks depends on the size of the building, type of material, method of laying and quantity.
